Hand-drawn card made by Sonja for Dickey Bell, decorated with a large heart, the words “I Love You!”, and Christmas bells with “Merry Christmas.” A personal keepsake from their relationship, preserved among Dickey’s papers.
Christmas 1982 — Dickey on the back left, Sonja beside him, Rickey in front, Johnny Tharp second from right, and Buster at far right. Dickey and Sonja’s first Christmas after they began dating September 29, 1982.
Rickey was born March 6, 1975, making him eight that summer—consistent with his appearance. Dickey would have been 26–27 and Sonja 23, also matching. Rickey closely matches his other 1983 school portraits. He looks noticeably older in the 1984 photos and younger in the 1982 photos.
Sonja on the left, Rickey in the middle, and Dickey on the right. Probably Christmas 1984, believed to be at Sonja’s parents’ home.
